Remediation of Kalyani River water using plant-bacterial cell synergism

Abstract The purpose of this research was to evaluate the potential plant-immobilized bacterial cells synergism for enhanced remediation polluted river water. water sample collected from Kalyani river, Uttarakhand, India and characterized by high concentration COD (1010 mg/l), BOD (230 NO3−-N (30 PO43−-P (48.9 Pb (1.028 mg/l). This treated on a lab scale with immobilized Epipremnum aureum in various treatment setups. system 3 using combination had highest pollutant removal efficiency all setups tested. At 96 hours, total COD, BOD, NO3−-N, contents were reduced 60 mg/l, 20 2.4 11.7 0.065 respectively. Based findings, it is possible conclude that utilizing cell an environmentally friendly cost-effective approach rejuvenation Furthermore, field-scale application via floating wetland construction on-site contaminated recommended.
